Principal's Message

Welcome families and guest to Noralto Elementary School.  I am extremely proud to share with you the incredible success that we have accomplished over the past few years.  We have made and celebrated some of the highest gains in academic student achievement in the entire state of California (please see celebration link for news and feature articles, videos, governor visit, and success stories).  Our success represents the hard work and commitment from all stakeholder groups.

In addition to achieving academic success in core content areas in every classroom, we believe our students should have access to a wide variety of enrichment opportunities to enhance their learning and development.  Our students have many opportunities for enrichment activities during the school day and through after-school programs.  At Noralto we help all students develop and demonstrate positive character traits (respect, responsibility, kindness, confidence and safety) as a way to positively influence their success in school and build habits that will influence their lifelong success as adults.

In close partnership with our active Parent Involvement Group, we host many family engagement events designed to strengthen the bond between the school, family, and community.  These events include: Family Reading and Math Nights, School Carnival, Open House, Back to School Night, Academic Parent Teacher Teams, Monthly Student Recognition Assemblies, and more.

We value communication with you and have set up procedures to ensure that effective communication is ongoing between school and home.  You will find your child’s teacher is your best resource and I encourage you to build a positive partnership with them.  If you need to contact me or meet with me, please call the office (916) 566-2700 to arrange a time for us to speak on the phone or meet in person.  I am also usually available before school and at dismissal to answer any questions or concerns.  You are also welcome to contact me via e-mail at  We realize the importance of maintaining a clear line of communication between school and home and are committed to accomplishing this goal.

It is going to be an amazing year of learning for every student at Noralto.  Thank you for your ongoing support or our school.
